THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

I have been waiting to get to my #1 Movie (BlockBuster of all time) for a few months now.  Out of the hundreds and hundreds of movies I have sat thru and watched this by far is my FAVOURITE!   This film was set inside the prison walls of Shawshank. However we didn’t mind because even though the prison was full of convicted fellons they were the coolest cats in the joint,  the audience quickly became one of family for the next 142 minutes.  I think I was comfortable within the confines of Shawshank because I was their with the amazing narrator’s calm voice (Morgan Freeman)

The movie is full of great moments, some sad, mostly shocking and finally moments of redemption!  The entire cast was brilliant in their performances. The Warden was such an ass!

Favorite Quotes:

Andy Dufresne: [in letter to Red]

Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

Andy Dufresne: Get busy living, or get busy dying.

Red: [narrating] Andy Dufresne – who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side.

Neil, your passion filled review touched my heart in ways that cannot be described in words. I have blindly painted several portraits in the dark forest guided only by your fire.

    Peace be with us.

    After a while later alligator.
